In the hustle and bustle of moving in to our new studio space, I had missed this piece, recently published in the New York Times, which offers yet another perspective on the value of the growth mindset in business and innovation.
Reading it today reminds me that there are many basic classroom practices that, with some forethought, could be molded into growth mindset-promoting tools. I started teaching my annual summer note-reading workshop yesterday, and this article reminded me to be mindful of the incentives I put in place for my students when working with them in a classroom setting (which is rare for me, but an opportunity nonetheless).
